The housing facility at the lake (also known as the garage) was at its full capacity. The entire family was there with all grandkids and of course our family friend/personal contractor.
The rain started to fall and the sky started to turn several shades of green. The wind picked up and we knew this was not going to be good. Everyone piled into the ever so tightly packed garage to seek shelter from the storm. As the wind picked up you could no longer see the lake nor the sidewalk in front of the garage. It was bad.
Suddenly, the lights went out! The power was gone, dinner was half cooked, the sardines in the garage were packed so tightly that we could not move around to find candles. Fortunately the five grandkids remained calm.
When the storm was over, we went out to survey the damage. See images. There were two trees that lost their lives in the storm. One was the hammock tree. Grandpa says we can leave the stump and the hammock will remain. The other tree was completely up-rooted and closest to the lake. When it fell, it literally missed our handy helper contractor's camper by a hair. It skimmed the side, but did not total the camper. Whew! That was close folks!
